Comprehensive Running Assessment

This is THE option to get the full picture of how you’re running. This will be done using both visual slow motion analysis using a treadmill and data taken from our RunScribe foot pods on an outdoor run.

The full running assessment allows us to identify more subtle issues with your running, such as right to left side differences in forces and contact times, as well as important data such as your cadence and other efficiency metrics. This gives us measured and accurate running data that we can target improvements in when it is relevant to your running injuries or efficiency needs.

This information is important for your bespoke running plan as no two runners will have the exact same biomechanics or running technique. Your experienced Sports Physiotherapist will identify how your injury or problem relates to your slow motion video from the treadmill and data from your outdoor run. They will then be able to form a bespoke running rehab plan for you accompanied by clinical tests if needed, coaching the various exercises and running technique alterations that you need on your return appointment.

You will also be provided various resources from this assessment such as:

  • Slow Motion Videos with and without running technique cues

  • Comparative Analysis Video of your running technique with and without coaching

  • Still images with relevant markings to highlight findings

  • RunScribe Pod Report PDF with your data

Appointment Length: approximately 1 hour for the first appointment and then 45 Minutes for your follow up coaching session. If any further appointments are necessary this will be discussed as part of your plan.

Please Do Not Book this appointment between 9am and 2pm on a Wednesday as treadmill access will not be available.

What to Bring:

  • Your normal running shoes

  • A pair of running shorts/leggings.

  • If you use a running watch to collect running data, it would be helpful if you could familiarise yourself with your weekly mileage, running plan and cadence on easy paced runs. This is not absolutely necessary but will give us extra information that can be useful in the assessment and planning.
